Common grades include CK45 / C45E, AISI 1045 and AISI 4140 / 42CrMo4, with a 20–30 µm hard chrome layer, induction hardening to HRC 55–60 and production to ISO 6020/2. Stainless 304L / 316L is available for corrosive environments.
